Crispy Oven Chicken

This is with out a doubt one of my favorite recipes.

I love to make home made food but it has to be fast and delicious.

I love to make up my own recipes with what I have on hand which may not always be conventional but it is usually practical.

One of the main concerns for me with any recipe is will the family like it and better yet will they eat it? Every time I make this recipe they ask me if we will have left overs for the next day now I don't know about you but that is just about the best compliment any cook can get.

If you are looking for a great fried chicken recipes this is a good one to try. Not only is this recipe easy it is also delicious.

List of Ingredients you will need:

6-8 Pieces Chicken or 3 Chicken breast Cut in 1/2 inch Strips 

3 Cups Self rise flour 

2-3 Tablespoons Chicken bouillon

1-2 teaspoons Black Pepper

1 1/2 Cup Milk or buttermilk

3 Eggs

Cook Oil

butter optional 

Mix 3 Tablespoons Chicken bouillon and 1-2 teaspoons Black Pepper Add a few tablespoons of milk to the self rise flour and mix to make lumps for crunchy chicken strips the more lumps the more crunchy your chicken will be.

Mix remaining milk with the eggs and beat well

Dip chicken into egg then into flour to coat.

Repeat dipping into egg then flour twice to get strips coated well.

Let strips or chicken piece rest on a pan while you begin to heat the oil. Rest time will help the coating adhere to the chicken strips or pieces better.

Once the oil and butter is heated fry both sides to a golden brown. Lay strips on a cookie sheet and finish cooking in the oven.

Bake golden brown strips in 375 degree oven for 10-25 minutes depending on how thick you made your strips or if you are using chicken pieces the cook times will be a bit longer. 

This chicken is so good hot or cold. If you are looking for a recipes the kids will literally devourer cold for a picnic at the park this is the one. They will love this chicken. Everyone absolutely flips for this chicken weather it's with mashed potatoes and gravy or cold with potatoes salad this chicken is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters.
